The most important step for homeowners is getting a Home Energy Review from LEAP.  


What is a Home Energy Review?   LEAP’s own Certified Building Analyst visits your home to give it a “check up,”  then provides a report highlighting the biggest opportunities for energy savings.  This review will identify the key, and often missed, areas of your home which offer the greatest cost savings to you on utility bills, and energy savings for us, in our goal to reach 10%.  Home improvements stemming from this review provide both the resident and our community the greatest benefit, that is why they are so key.


It gets better.  For the Energize!250 campaign, the City of Charlottesville has allocated a limited amount of funding to help support these reviews.  While a Home Energy Review usually costs around $100, it will only cost $25 thanks to a $75 rebate provided by the City and LEAP.  To qualify, you must own a single family, owner-occupied residence (this includes duplexs & townhomes as well). 


Directions to Set-up an Energy Review
Step 1: Submit Online
CLICK HERE  and fill out LEAP's free, quick and easy online energy report for your home. When you land on the report page, click the "Enroll Me Now" button. Fill out the enrollment form, and be sure to enter "Energize250" in the coupon code box. That's it. You're done, and our Energy Advisor will be in touch with you soon to schedule a time for your review.
Step 2: Request a Review

After finishing the online component, which should take about 5 minutes, you will see a page that says “Enroll Me Now” (pictured right). This button is very important to remember because the Enroll Me Now page contains your contact information, so we can call you and schedule a review.

*Note: At the bottem of this page is a "Coupon Code" box, where you can enter the name of the CHS student who spoke with you.
Step 3: Your Energy Review
One of LEAP's helpful staff will call you to schedule a time for your review.
It is that easy!

For qualifying low-income families, the $25 fee may be waived. Contact LEAP for more details.  Also, it is important to remember that this is an exclusive opportunity with a hard ceiling on the number of homeowner reviews we can offer.  So reserve a review soon, to ensure you become a part of the "club" of homeowners who receive one in Cville.
